Free Me Ends a Six-Year Album Gap
J. Monty released Free Me on June 4, 2021, his first full-length project in six years and his first after leaving his former label arrangement. The record turns that period into narrative material: “Mr. Repo,” featuring Parris Chariz, recounts having his car repossessed, while the title track addresses the struggle behind the album’s name.

Testify: Season 1 Collects Twelve Raps
Testify: Season 1 gathered the twelve raps J. Monty issued through his 2019 Testify campaign and reached No. 10 on the iTunes Top Hip-Hop/Rap Albums chart. Monty later told Rapzilla that his former label removed Season 1 from streaming because he had released it without the label’s consent; he resumed the format with a second season in 2022.
